FAQ - SWIMMING

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GROUP AND PRIVATE CLASSES?

The main difference between the group and private class is the flexibility in the arrangement of classes.

Group classes are fixed and students are to attend the sessions as per arranged.

Private classes are flexible to change the sessions to accomodate to the students schedule (subjected to coaches availability).

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO SWIM?

On average, an individual will take about 12 sessions learn a stroke. However, to be proficient in the stroke, it will take a much longer time.


It really depends on individual. We cannot expect everyone to have the same learning pace. Our Swimolgoists will adjust the programme accordingly so that you can learn what you want to achieve in the most efficient way.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Depending on the location and the type of class that you are looking at, the prices will vary. You can find out more at Services, or Contact us for more detailed quotation

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE THERE IN A MONTH?

Our classes are scheduled based on terms. Depending on the various reasons (e.g. holidays), the number of sessions in the month will vary.

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF EACH SESSION?

By default, each session is 45 minutes in duration unless other arrangement has been made with you.

WHAT IF I AM UNABLE ATTEND THE LESSON DUE TO OTHER COMMITMENT OR MEDICAL REASON?

There will be no replacement for the missing class. Please talk to us if you are unable to make it for any class, we will do our best to work out something u.

WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER (I.E. LIGHTNING, HEAVY RAIN, HAZE)?

Before lesson begin

Lesson will be cancelled and extra 15 minutes will be added to the next 2 lessons.

During first 30 min of the lesson

Lesson will have to stopped and extra 15 minutes will be added to the next lesson.

Last 15 min of the lesson

Lesson will have to be stopped. No additional lesson will be given.

WHAT IF THERE ARE UNFORESEEN CANCELLATION OF LESSONS?

This will not be common, but we do have a policy in place. Should the lesson be cancelled due to unforeseen situation, additional 15 minutes will be added to the next 2 lessons.

HOW DO I WITHDRAW FROM THE CLASS?

It is unfortunate that you have to withdraw from the class. Talk to us about it, we will need 1 month notice for withdrawal.

FAQ - SWIMSAFER ASSESSMENT

WHAT IS SWIMSAFER2.0 REVISION?

We understand that some participants would like to have a session before the assessment to familiarise themselves. This revision will be good for them as it will be done by the same instructor that will be taking their assessment too. This helps the participant to understand the instructor better as well as the sequence for the assessment .

WHAT IS SWIMSAFER2.0 ASSESSMENT

SwimSafer2.0 is Singapore's national swimming programme. It is endorsed by Sport Singapore (SportSG) and Ministry of Education (MOE). It is also widely recognised in Singapore as a benchmark for swimming. For more information, please refer to our SwimSafer page.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER DURING REVISION?

Should the revision is unable to continue because of bad weather, the revision will be done in theory. Instructors will talk through the whole process so that the participants understand what is required for the assessment.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD DURING ASSESSMENT?

The assessment will be postponed while waiting for the weather to clear during the hour of assessment. If the weather remains bad, the assessment will be postponed to the following week (same day, same time) to continue with the assessment.

If the weather is bad again, we apologise that the assessment will have to be cancelled. No refund will be given. 

WHAT ARE THE FEES?

We provide a one stop service for SwimSafer assessment. You may check out the pricing on our pricing page.

Fees include a complimentary re-assessment if the weather is bad. 

WILL THERE BE REFUND IF THE PARTICIPANT FALL ILL ON ASSESSMENT DAY

We apologise that once the registration is confirmed, we are unable to do a refund as prior arrangement would have been made for the assessment. Please contact us at askme@swimology.sg to speak to us.

 

FAQ - FLOATFIT

WHERE ARE THE PROGRAMMES BEING HELD?

Currently, we have classes at Clementi, Geylang East and Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. You can visit ActiveSG website to search for our programmes.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE PROGRAMME?

Together with ActiveSG, we are able to price it at $18 for 1 session. We assure you this is the best price you can find for Floatfit

THE PROGRAMME IS TOO EXPENSIVE

We are working closely with ActiveSG on this. Please be assured that pricing for Floatfit programme that we offer is the best that you can find in Singapore.
