SwimSafer Programme
Learn to Swim & Stay Safe in Water
The SwimSafer™ 2.0 programme is Singapore’s national water safety framework designed to equip children with essential swimming and water survival skills.
Through a structured six-stage progression, students develop confidence in the water while learning practical survival techniques and swimming proficiency.
From basic water confidence to advanced rescue skills, each stage builds toward stronger aquatic competency and safety awareness.
Upon completing each stage, students receive an official stage completion e-certificate recognising their progress in the programme.

Stage 1
Water confidence and basic safety skills.
Students learn safe entry and exit, floating, and basic movement in water.

Stage 5 (Silver)
Advanced personal survival and diving skills.
Students demonstrate 200 metres of continuous swimming.

Stage 2
Development of general swimming skills and water safety awareness.
Students work towards swimming 25 metres continuously.

Stage 6 (Gold)
Advanced stroke proficiency and rescue techniques.
Students demonstrate 400 metres of swimming within time standards.

Stage 3
Introduction to deeper water skills including stride jump, sculling, and PFD use.
Students work towards 50 metres continuous swimming.

Stage 4 (Bronze)
Stroke development and personal survival techniques.
Students work towards 100 metres of coordinated strokes.
